Just went there in Hawaii and got the pokey which is on point and less expensive than if you go to any of the pokey places. There's a lot of variety. And almost everything is on sale so you have to sign up to get a customer number with them which is free to set up. definitely Will be back every time I come back to Hawaii

This was our go-to for poke when we were in Lahaina last year. I've heard they made it through the terrible fires that damaged Lahaina town. I hope the staff and their families are safe because this is a gem. I remember service being quick, cashiers being friendly, and feeling a sense of home in this large supermarket.

Maui has a ton of poke places, but I heard that Foodland is one of the best since that's where the locals go. I didn't need the poke to be fancy... just fresh and of good quality. After a morning of walking around the Lahaina shopping district, three of us came here to grab poke bowls. We selected the $7.99 option which includes 1/3 pound of poke on top of warm rice (white or brown). It's a great value! I've never seen so many varieties of poke. I decided on the classic spicy Ahi poke and my family members got the California Roll style and Furikake style. For an extra $1, I added on cucumber kimchi for the crunch and to balance out the creaminess of the sauce. Our bowls were surprisingly heavy, but contained SO much rice. My spicy ahi was tasty, and the large chunks of tuna were nicely coated in the sauce. It didn't have as much spice as I had hoped though. The kimchi cucumbers added a pleasant heat, some acidity and a good crunch. On a second occasion, we picked up a few Spam Musubis as a snack for our drive up to the Nakalele Blowhole. They were delicious. The Spam had a slightly sweet glaze and the rice was still a good texture even after sitting under the heat lamp. They had little cardboard plates in the warmer that you could take which came in handy when eating the musubis on the go. The prepared foods, deli items and desserts all looked delicious. Aisles were clean and the staff was also friendly. You can't go wrong with a stop at Foodland!

Nice place for poke $7.90 and above and Hawaiian bento $10. Shoyu Ahi- fresh and delicious Pastele stew (pork) - abit too salty.

Foodland is a hawaiin must right? I'd say this location is spacious, would have goods you'd need for stay, and the staff is really friendly. Sign up for the rewards program via phone number and remember to do the survey if you do a more than 3 day trip. Sadly I forgot before it was too late, but you can get a $5 gift card. There's parking in the plaza, it's a little weird with lots of signage but I don't think its regulated. I was able to find most of foodland branded products here. Coconut chips were my favorite. Their ube cake was also bomb, I preferred it over the passionfruit one. Both are not strong in flavor, but it's a whip cream soft cake versus American buttercream. I couldn't find ube mochi. I prefer this spam musubi over abcs, think the flavor was better. Poke wise, I found the ahi to be fresh and not have mainland metal taste. Plump and easy to bite through, however most of the sauces were on the saltier/strong side. Their food in general tends to be on the salty side. I also tri3d the breakfast offered, but found it a bit soggy. My favorite I think was the shoyu one, again the spicy one is good but the marinade overtakes the fish flavor. I also tried their raw marinated crab, however, it was too fishy ( esp once you open the container) so it mightve been defrosted. Each 1/4-1/2lb poke cost me around $6-10 so quite affordable. Overall, I do feel it is one of the freshest poke you can get at a decent price. I think California just has higher standards for food. But I always found the staff amicable, and the ahi does taste diff (fresher, plumper, less fishy)

Stopped by here randomly to pick up some groceries for the hotel on our visit, and was pleasantly surprised with all the poke selections available! Tried two different poke bowls, each bowl comes with a bowl of rice and a scoop of poke. Tried the spicy ahi ($7.50 a bowl) and tried the more expensive poke, the "Fresh ahi" for ($11.50 a bowl). Honestly both bowls were bomb! Can't even tell the difference taste wise! Super fresh, I recommend the poke with the Mayo, sriracha, and garlic or onion base, super tasty! The rice was surprisingly perfectly cooked as well! Also picked up a musubi for about $2-3, pretty good as well if you're craving a spam musubi, but nothing amazing.

Located across the street from the outlets of Maui in the old Lahaina center. We've made a habit of buying our food to eat on the plane for our flight home either the day before or the morning of. If you know the locals in Hawaii you know they love spam. And spam musubi. So we dropped in this afternoon to buy our spam musubi. I prefer same day cuz it's still warm. But have to make do. Good price. $2.29 each. Two makes a good meal. We also bought our dinner for tonight here. And a dessert and fresh fruit. It's a great supermarket for locals and tourists.

One of the local supermarkets on the Island. Quality/Quantity - Excellent. In the past the Foodland Farms was the more upscale version of this brand, but NOT on this trip. They definitely do more business at this location versus their nearby Foodland Farms location. They were fully stocked and ready for business, unlike Foodland Farms which I just left because they did NOT have enough product ready to sell. Atmosphere - Local supermarket, great place to look for good local food. Plenty of mall parking with a 2 hour limit. They were way stricter pre-pandemic as many people abused their parking to hang out on Front Street. Open 7 days a week from 6am to 9pm Service - 6 stars on this trip. The team was very friendly and helpful. I also get mistaken for a local every time I am on the islands... Which is a very good thing. I helped answer other customers' questions too. Price - Hawaiian prices, I just don't look. A guy gotta eat and drink right? Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1948 with 34+ locations. Largest and oldest supermarket chain in HI.
